METHOD FOR RECOGNITION OF DIGITAL IMAGES BY PROSTHETIC SYSTEMS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G06V20/70 G06V10/70 A61F9/08

Abstract RU 2773618 C1

FIELD: digital image recognition.

SUBSTANCE: method relates to digital image recognition technologies and can be implemented in visual prosthetic systems. The expected result is achieved by performing the following steps: obtaining full-size frames from the cameras of the prosthetic system; converting frames into squares in grayscale; defining the boundaries of objects; blurring the boundaries using the normal distribution function; splitting into rectangular cells; formation of a stimulation pattern in the form of information about the brightness characteristics of the signal for each electrode; encryption of the generated stimulation pattern; sending the stimulation pattern to the prosthesis; recognition of objects in frames, calculation of objects in the scene using trained machine vision algorithms or artificial intelligence algorithms, notifying the user about the presence of certain objects in the observed scene; in addition to essential identification of objects, determination of the distance to each of them; construction of a depth map and a disparity map; communication of distance information in a user-friendly form via hardware.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of perception and recognition of the surrounding space by the user of the prosthetic system.
