FIELD: bioengineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to bioengineering technologies and can be used in medical practice in order to restore visual functions in people who have completely lost them. The system contains external and internal parts. The external part effectively processes the video signal and sends commands to the electrodes implanted to the user. A system for implementing the method is proposed, and the system consists of an external and implantable part, where the implantable part is a connected receiving antenna in a biocompatible silicone housing, an electrode control chip enclosed in a titanium housing and a matrix of conductive polymer electrodes immersed in an inert flexible base, and the external part consists of a first device designed to place an adjustable hoop on the user’s head, and a second device is the video signal processing unit, moreover, the hoop is equipped with two video cameras built into its front part, a power supply, a transmitting antenna, a microcontroller, memory and an interface for connecting the processing unit, and the video signal processing unit is a microcomputer placed in the housing, made with the possibility of additional video signal processing for the purpose of identifying objects and issuing signals based on the results of processing, as well as: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, power supply modules, interfaces for charging, connecting external audio devices, connections to the hoop and the functional control unit.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides a reduction in the user’s adaptation time to a new visual experience, an expansion of the functionality of the system, as well as an increase in the safety of use.
