DETECTION AND QUANTIFICATION OF ACCUMULATED LIQUID IN PIPELINES FOR TRANSPORTING HYDROCARBON FLUID Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01F1/36 G01F1/50

Abstract RU 2773626 C1

FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: pressurising apparatus and pressure sensors can be applied to detect and quantify accumulated liquids in pipelines for the transporting hydrocarbon fluid. Pressure fluctuations can be detected by means of a pressure sensor, wherein pressure fluctuations occur in response to the output of a pressurising apparatus issuing a pressure signal in a pipe for transporting hydrocarbons. A change in the pipe diameter, caused by accumulation or deposition, can be estimated using an inverse model. Accumulations or depositions can be classified by applying a machine learning model to the pressure fluctuations. A change in the pipe diameter can be converted to an equivalent liquid volume for the locations of accumulations. The location and volume of an accumulation or deposition can be calculated and applied to determine the action with respect to the pipe to remove the accumulation or deposition.

EFFECT: possibility of predicting possible locations of liquid accumulation and estimating the amount of liquid condensate in a pipeline.
