FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to olefin epoxidation process and, more particularly, to treatment of epoxidation reaction products stream. Process comprises following steps. Olefin is reacted with hydrogen peroxide in presence of epoxidation catalyst and alcohol solvent. Hydrogen peroxide is used in the form of 10-70% aqueous solution or in the form of alcohol solution prepared by reaction of hydrogen and oxygen in presence of catalyst based on precious metal and alcohol. Resulting olefin oxide of non-reacted olefin are then isolated from reaction stream after which stream containing alcohol solvent is recovered and subjected to hydrogenation to form alcohol solvent stream.
EFFECT: enabled recovery of elevated-purity solvent stream completely free of hydrogen peroxide.
