FIELD: rail vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of coupling and automatic couplers of railway vehicles. Absorbing apparatus comprises a hollow body, an elastic system, a pressure member and a friction system disposed in an open portion of the body. Elastic system is formed by elastic element located in closed part of housing on guide rod. Guide rod has a head for its installation in a recess made in the lower part of the body for centring relative to the main axis. Pressure element has flat inner horizontal surface to interact with resilient element. Centring hole is made in the centre of the pressure element by placing a guide rod section in it. Elastic element is formed by unit of elastomer elements separated by plates installed on guide rod. Working stroke of the absorbing apparatus ranges from 110 to 120 mm.

EFFECT: higher reliability and serviceability due to more accurate alignment of interacting structural elements of friction and elastic systems under action of dynamic load and increased power capacity of apparatus with simultaneous simplification of design.
