FIELD: damping gas pressure pulsations methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for damping gas pressure pulsations and reducing the noise of volumetric compressors, which leads to a reduction in pipeline vibration and a decrease in sound pressure level. The silencer contains two stages, each of which is tuned to its own group of frequencies, multiples of the rotational speed of the main rotor of the screw compressor. The stages consist of a rectifier located in the central channel of the muffler and tubes with a closed end distributed on the periphery of the muffler body. The damping of pulsations occurs due to the creation of the maximum acoustic impedance at a given frequency as a result of selecting the channel lengths equal to 1/4 (for the first stage) and 1/8 (for the second stage) of the wavelength with the main pulsating frequency.
EFFECT: effective damping of pressure pulsations of the gas flow and noise reduction during the operation of a positive displacement compressor are achieved.
