FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: contents of a distribution cabinet after installing the equipment nodes (2a-2e) on the mounting panel (4) of the distribution cabinet (1) according to the plan and performing connection thereof are tested via terminals (6) provided for this purpose by means of dedicated electrical cables (5). The apparatus comprises: a camera unit (7) for obtaining a two-dimensional image of the nodes (2a-2e), an assessment unit (8) for comparing the layout (100) of the image of the actual state with the provided plan layout (200) of the target state with respect to: the configuration and position of the installed nodes (2a-2e); localisation of the terminals (6); and the routing of the electrical cables (5). The assessment unit (8) also compares the functional capabilities created by the nodes (2a-2e) and connections thereof with the schematic electrical circuit diagram (300) linked to the plan layout (200). The apparatus also comprises a simulation unit (12) modelling various working states of the distribution cabinet (1) over a set period of time. An output unit (11) is provided to issue the results of testing of the structural consistency of the distribution cabinet (1) for assessment with respect to whether to release said cabinet for delivery or to eliminate faults.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability and speed of testing a distribution cabinet with complex contents.
