SUBSTANCE: one or more variants of implementation of the present invention relate to an aerosol-generating apparatus and a method for generating an aerosol, in particular, to an aerosol-generating apparatus determining the temperature of the first current collector based on the temperature profile of the second current collector corresponding to the temperature profile of the first current collector, and to a method for generating an aerosol. The aerosol-generating apparatus includes an accommodating section for placing a cigarette through the hole formed at the end of the accommodating section, a first current collector located in the accommodating section and inserted into a cigarette placed in the accommodating section, a second current collector located in a compartment separate from the accommodating section at a distance from the first current collector, a coil generating an alternating magnetic field for the first and second current collectors for generating heat, and a temperature sensor located near the second current collector for measuring the temperature profile of the second current collector. The temperature profile of the second current collector corresponds to the temperature profile of the first current collector, and the temperature of the first current collector is determined based on the temperature profile of the second current collector.

EFFECT: one or more variants of implementation of the invention provide an aerosol-generating apparatus capable of improving the accuracy of measuring the temperature of the current collector, easy control of the temperature of the current collector, and effective response to a change in the temperature of the current collector.
