FIELD: fibres.
SUBSTANCE: invention generally relates to a fibre pulling system. Furnace system for suppressing the instability of the process gas flow when pulling an optical fibre preform during production of optical fibre, containing: a muffle furnace defining a furnace cavity; a lower heater connected with the muffle furnace and configured to create a hot area inside the furnace cavity with a temperature from 1,700°C to 2,000°C; an upper muffle expansion located over the muffle furnace and defining a holder cavity; a down-feeding holder located in the holder cavity so as to define a gap between the outer surface of the down-feeding holder and the inner surface of the upper muffle expansion; a boule coupled with the down-feeding holder, configured to support the optical fibre preform; an upper heater thermally coupled with the upper muffle expansion and configured to heat the gap; and a gas screen located in the upper muffle expansion and configured to introduce process gas into the holder cavity.
EFFECT: suppression of instability of the flow in the fibre pulling system.
