FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods of protecting the field of view of an endoscope. Disclosed is an application of a viscoelastic composition for protecting the field of view of an endoscope, containing a thickener and water and having a shear elasticity modulus value G’ from 0.7 to 7.0 Pa. Also disclosed is a method for protecting the field of view of an endoscope, including introduction of the above composition from the proximal part of the endoscope through a channel into the distal part of the endoscope.
EFFECT: group of inventions ensures protection of the field of view of the endoscope in the case when a non-transparent dark-coloured liquid or a semi-solid material are accumulated inside the duct, blocking the field of view of the endoscope, or protection of the field of view of the endoscope in the case when the field of view of the endoscope is blocked by non-stopping bleeding.
