FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions discloses the use of a thickener containing galactomannan polysaccharide to obtain a thickened composition for the treatment of a patient with dysphagia, where the treatment includes a decrease in the closure time of the vestibular larynx (LVC) and/or a decrease in the duration of the swallowing reaction in the specified patient with dysphagia, where the thickener contains xanthan gum and guar gum with a mass ratio of xanthan gum to guar gum in the range of 50–150. A group of inventions also relates to the use of a thickened composition for manufacturing a product for the treatment of a patient with dysphagia and to a method of reducing the time of closing the vestibular larynx (LVC) and/or reducing the duration of the swallowing response in a patient with dysphagia.
EFFECT: compensation of the swallowing problem and partial restoration of the swallowing function.
