FIELD: mining equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of production of diamond drill bits, namely to the input quality control of diamond cutters. Essence: cutters are prepared by heating to the soldering temperature when they are installed in the body of a diamond drill bit, cutters are installed in the mandrel, with a fixed overlap area of the working edges and a protrusion of one of the cutters above the surface of the mandrel, the mandrel is placed on a loading device equipped with a loading magnitude sensor, and cutters are compressed with a fixed loading speed until the destruction of the working edges of at least one of the cutters, with simultaneous registration of the critical compression load. The cutters are compressed through a copper plate, which is placed between the cutters when they are installed in the mandrel.
EFFECT: the ability to quickly and objectively assess the strength of the working surface of diamond cutters coming to assembly.
