SUBSTANCE: method of selecting a PDC cutter for a developed rock based on a series of tests relates to the control of rock-cutting drilling tools of PDC type used to ensure the required drilling parameters when repairing oil and gas wells. The invention relates to the field of control of rock cutting drilling tools of the PDC type used to ensure the required drilling parameters, during the repair of oil and gas wells, requiring consideration of mechanical properties, abrasiveness of rocks and process conditions in the design, manufacture and operation of rock cutting tools. Four cycles of testing are carried out on PDC cutters, without thermal exposure to PDC cutters, with one cycle of thermal exposure to PDC cutters, with two cycles of thermal exposure to PDC cutters and with three cycles of thermal exposure to PDC cutters. When implementing each of these cycles, a series of tests is carried out, including the implementation of four stages. At the first stage, PDC cutters are tested for compliance with the required loads. At the second stage, PDC cutters are tested for resistance to abrasive wear from rock. The third step is to test the PDC cutters for impact loading. In the fourth step, the microstructure and chemical composition of the PDC cutters are examined under a microscope. Based on the results of four test cycles with the implementation of four stages in each cycle, the following characteristics are obtained for each sample of the PDC cutter: rock categories that can be drilled with the studied PDC cutter, total run of the PDC cutter, maximum impact load values for the PDC cutter tooth, without and with taking into account thermal effects, the chemical composition and microstructure of the materials from which the PDC cutters are made, obtained without taking into account and by taking into account thermal effects. At the final stage, the cutter is chosen, in accordance with the data obtained at the previous stages of the test cycles.

EFFECT: improving the accuracy of selecting PDC cutters to ensure the required drilling parameters of the developed rock.
