FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, namely to methods for automatically detecting and measuring the duration of signals reflected from small objects, in particular from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The claimed effect is achieved due to the fact that the only maximum of the function formed by sequential averaging of the discrete components of the digitized analog signal within the specified boundaries of the averaging interval occurs only when the averaging interval becomes equal to the duration of the detected signal.
EFFECT: possibility of detecting a useful signal and establishing its duration.
