SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil industry and can be used in the development of oil deposits with bottom water. A method for isolating water inflow in a formation with bottom water includes extracting oil through production wells. The method also includes pumping water through injection wells, identifying wells that produce excess water, the source of flooding of which is bottom water. The method also includes carrying out work to limit the production of excess water with the required volume of injection of water-insulating compositions into the aquifer with bottom water to obtain a water-insulating screen. The method includes studies to determine the section of the formation with bottom water. Research is carried out at the exploration stage. After the studies, the reservoir section is drilled with grids of wells with the determination of the level of oil-water contact between the oil-bearing interval and bottom water in each well. The water-insulating composition is injected into the aquifer with bottom water with a composition injection interval of at least 2 m to obtain a water-insulating screen before the start of well operation and in a volume that ensures the penetration of the water-insulating composition at least half the distance to the neighboring well. The operation of production and injection wells is carried out taking into account the shear pressures of the created water-proof screen to prevent its displacement and destruction.

EFFECT: improving the efficiency of isolation of water inflow in the formation in a large area of ​​the formation with bottom water due to the one-time creation of a water-proof screen on all wells in this area before the start of their operation.
