FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for quantitative and quality assessment of laser printing samples. The method contains following stages: provision of a laser printing sample; generation of a digital raster image of part of laser printing of the laser printing sample, and creation of digital graphic information, which forms a digital raster image; identification of at least one individual part within digital graphic information; generation of at least one image histogram for identified at least one individual part of digital graphic information; approximation of a probability density function for obtained at least one image histogram; and determination of at least one parameter of the probability density function.
EFFECT: provision of the possibility of automatic detection of optimal laser setting by examination and optical assessment of markings on a product.
