FIELD: material engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a polyolefin composition that provides improved contrast of laser signs. It is suitable for many applications where precise marking of a molded product made of a polyolefin composition is required, for example, such as the outer layer of a wire or cable or in automotive applications. The polyolefin composition according to the invention includes polyolefin, soot in an amount from 0.25 to 1.0, wt.%, and optical bleach in an amount from 0.001 to 0.1, wt.%. The invention also proposes a molded product including a polyolefin composition specified in the invention. In addition, the invention also suggests the use of a polyolefin specified in the invention as the outer layer of the cable. Finally, the invention proposes a method for applying an imprint to a molded product using laser printing.
EFFECT: extension of the range of new solutions for marking various products.
