FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used for the creation of a set of plasma generating points and determination of ion mobility. An ionizing device contains a base, the first flat electrode located on the base, and the second flat electrode. At the same time, the first flat electrode is separated from the second flat electrode by a dielectric layer. In this case, the ionizing device is made for the creation of a set of plasma generating points corresponding to locally increased electric fields between the first electrode and the second electrode. At the same time, the second electrode contains branches or holes providing multiple intersections with the first flat electrode, in which areas of the specified locally increased electric fields are formed. The invention also relates to an ion mobility spectrometer (hereinafter – IMS) device containing such an ionizing device.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of elimination of radioactive sources, reduction or minimizing aging effects of structural elements, and increase in the stability of IMS devices.
