FIELD: emergency and operational braking.

SUBSTANCE: electro-pneumatic system (300) for managing emergency and operational braking is described, including: brake pressure generation modules that create brake pressures for brake groups; an emergency brake pressure control and monitoring device that receives weight signals, an emergency brake request signal, actual pressure signals, and outputs emergency brake request signals; an emergency braking pressure generation module generating an emergency braking pressure; a brake control device that outputs pairs of control signals to generate respective brake pressures as a function of the service brake request signal and weight signals when the emergency brake request signal does not require emergency braking, and to generate brake pressures as a function of the emergency brake pressure request signals when the request signal emergency braking indicates an emergency braking request; the first emergency switching device with contact pairs that allow, when closed, to connect pairs of control signals from the braking control device to the brake pressure generation modules, and when opened, to disconnect these pairs of control signals from the brake pressure generation modules.

EFFECT: increased safety during emergency and operational braking.
