FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of a volume-macroporous structure of palladium, usable as a catalytic or electrode material, for the storage and separation of hydrogen isotopes by the chromatographic method. Method involves the stage of selective dissolution of a palladium alloy containing 60 wt.% silver, the rest palladium, in a three-electrode electrolyser. The alloy is treated with an anode current in a eutectic mixture of sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and caesium chloride at a temperature of 540 °C; the electrolysis is conducted in a potentiostatic mode at a potential of 0.1 V to 0.5 V relative to the reference silver electrode; in the course of electrolysis, the current flowing through the electrolyser is monitored, and when the current output reaches a constant minimum value, the electrolysis is stopped.
EFFECT: possibility of obtaining a volume-macroporous structure of palladium with a pore size of the order of hundreds of nanometres.
