SUBSTANCE: invention relates to functional products, namely, to functional chicken eggs. Method for feeding chickens to produce chicken eggs enriched with ergothioneine and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) includes: producing a compound feed, wherein from 1 g to 5 g of an ergothioneine-containing feed additive is mixed with 110 g of generic chicken feed. The ergothioneine-containing feed additive is therein produced by drying and spraying the fruiting body of Pleurotus cornucopiae, and feeding the chickens with compound feed daily for 36 days. Alternatively, the method for feeding chickens to produce enriched chicken eggs includes: producing compound feed, wherein from 1 g to 5 g of the above ergothioneine-containing feed additive is mixed with 110 g of generic chicken feed, producing compound feed wherein from 2 to 4 cub. cm of a solution of the Pleurotus cornucopiae extract concentrate is mixed with 110 g generic chicken feed, and feeding the chickens with each of the compound feeds daily for 36 days at the same time, or feeding the chickens with each of the compound feeds separately and alternately every other day for 36 days. The solution of the Pleurotus cornucopiae extract concentrate therein contains ergothioneine produced by concentrating the residual liquid used in the production of boiled Pleurotus cornucopiae 5 to 9 times. The chicken eggs contain ergothioneine in an amount of 5 tp 20 mcg/g and are applied to produced a processed food product.

EFFECT: production of a finished product - functional chicken egg with a high ergothionenine content, improving the hepatic function.
