SUBSTANCE: provided are a system and a method for monitoring operation; wherein said system for monitoring operation is used to monitor at least one agricultural machine to control the operational range of the agricultural machine; wherein the system for monitoring operation comprises an environment analysis module, a boundary control module, and at least one monitoring module; wherein said environment analysis module identifies at least one operational area and at least one non-operational area of the operation environment and creates at least one boundary between the operational area and the non-operational area; wherein the boundary control module is in communication connection with the environment analysis module in order to position at least one electronic fence at the boundary; wherein the monitoring module is in communication connection with the boundary control module in order to create an electronic fence; wherein the monitoring module monitors the position of the agricultural machine in order to monitor whether the agricultural machine is in the operational area on one side of the electronic fence and thereby control the operational range of the agricultural machine.

EFFECT: ensured monitoring of the operation of an agricultural machine.
