SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to elongated smoking article (100), which is elongated in longitudinal direction (L). Elongated smoking article (100) contains heated tobacco material (11) and filter element (20), combined with smoking body (10). Filter element (20) has at least one filtering part (30) and at least one hollow section (40), wherein at least one hollow section (40) is located between smoking housing (10) at least one filtering part (30). Filter element (20) is protected by tipping paper (50) together with smoking body (10). Filtering part (30) contains material for removal of undesirable substances from aerosol, and hollow section (40) has protective layer (51) located on its inner surface (41), and carrier layer (52) located on protective layer (51). Carrier layer (52) contains volatile additive (80), and protective layer (51) is impermeable for volatile additive (80). Present invention also relates to hollow section (40) for elongated smoking article (100) of the invention, hollow section (40) of sheet cardboard material, spirally wound (42), including protective layer (51) located on its inner surface (41), and carrier layer (52) located on protective layer (51), wherein volatile additive (80) is contained in carrier layer (52), and protective layer (51) is impermeable for volatile additive (80).
