SUBSTANCE: article which generates aerosol contains a tobacco element and a mouthpiece. Tobacco element contains an aerosol-forming substrate, a support element located downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate and an aerosol-cooling element located downstream of the support element. Mouthpiece comprises a filtering segment and a hollow tube. Aerosol cooling element has length of not more than 15 millimetres. Mouthpiece length is adapted in accordance with the length of the aerosol-cooling element so that the total length of the aerosol-generating article remains a predetermined total length. Invention also relates to a method of making aerosol-generating articles.
