FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and can be used in the production of high-grade grades of ferrosilicon. Ferrosilicon is obtained in ore-thermal furnaces by the reduction of quartzite using carbonaceous reducing agents in the presence of steel chips in a continuous process with periodic release of the alloy from the furnace. To remove undesirable impurities of aluminum and calcium from the melt, the oxidizing flux is loaded into the ladle, the ferrosilicon melt is discharged into the ladle and it is treated with oxidizing gas in the form of a mixture of oxygen and compressed air supplied through the porous bottom of the ladle, after the melt is discharged, the fluxes are removed from the ladle and again load oxidizing flux with a basicity of 0.36-0.46 and a multiplicity of 0.39-0.65 and continue blowing the melt with oxidizing gases.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the content of undesirable aluminum and calcium impurities in the ferrosilicon melt to less than 0.04 wt.%.
