SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear physics and high-temperature plasma physics and can be used in controlled thermonuclear fusion for thermometry of thermonuclear plasma, in the development of diagnostic devices for controlled thermonuclear fusion. A method for measuring the temperature of ions in D-T plasma is proposed, which includes the registration of neutrons from D-T plasma by a neutron detector, the use of detector signals to form the neutron energy spectrum, measuring its width at half-height ΔEn and calculating the temperature TP of the ions by the value ΔEn. In this case, neutrons from the D-T plasma are registered with a gas proportional detector filled with brake gas and spectrometric gas, for which reactions (n, α) on its isotopic components are possible under the action of neutrons with corresponding energies from the D-T plasma. At the same time, Doppler broadening of the neutron spectrum is used to form the neutron energy spectrum due to the thermal motion of the center of mass of deuterium and tritium in the laboratory coordinate system, and the current signals of the detector change proportionally to the changes in the energy course of the cross section (n, α): reaction during Doppler broadening.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measuring the temperature of ions in D-T plasma.
