SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear physics and high-temperature plasma physics. Method for measuring the temperature of ions in a D-T plasma involves the registration of neutrons from a D-T plasma by a neutron detector, using detector signals to form the neutron energy spectrum, measuring its width at half-height ΔEn and calculation by magnitude ΔEn of ion temperature Ti, in this case, the registration of neutrons from D-T plasma is carried out by a gas proportional detector filled with a braking gas and a spectrometric gas, for which reactions are possible (n, α) on its isotopic components under the action of neutrons with corresponding energies from D-T plasma, and to form the energy spectrum of neutrons, current detector signals are used, from which only those signals are selected, shape of which is characterized by two peaks from the highly ionizing product nuclei completely slowed down in the sensitive gas volume of the detector – α-particles and heavy nuclei from the reaction (n, α) neutrons with a spectrometric gas.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of measuring the temperature of ions in D-T plasma.
