FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for the intensification of biological and chemical processes using immiscible liquid media of various viscosities in vortex reactors, in particular during the cultivation of tissue cells, microorganisms, algae. The method involves filling a cylindrical reactor with two liquids without mixing them, so that a liquid with a lower density and greater kinematic viscosity is located on top, then with the reactor walls stationary, a vortex motion is generated in the upper liquid layer by rotating the reactor lid. In this case, the reactor is filled with liquids with a difference in density of 15-20% and kinematic viscosity of at least 2 times so that the height of the upper liquid layer h is in the range of 0.02D <h<0.3D, where D is the diameter of the reactor.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the intensification of biological and chemical processes in vortex two-liquid reactors.
