FIELD: electronics and electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronics and electrical engineering in the field of heat treatment of metals for the purpose of their vacuum melting, evaporation, deposition, welding, cutting, for additive technologies. The gas-discharge electron-beam gun consists of a gas-discharge chamber, a cathode with a spherical emission surface, and a hollow anode. A spark-suppressing layer is deposited on the inner surface of the hollow anode in the region of the geometric proximity of the cathode with a spherical emission surface. Under the beam guide there is a vestibular evacuation chamber containing an annular system of evacuation nozzles.
EFFECT: increasing reliability, the possibility of implementing long-term technological processes, expanding the functionality of an electron beam gun to provide program-controlled heating modes in accordance with specified requirements.
