FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronics and electrical engineering in the field of heat treatment of metals for their vacuum melting, evaporation, fusing, welding, cutting, for additive technologies. Electron-beam gun comprises cathode cascade in housing with collecting lens, anode and beam guide with focusing and deflecting lenses, heat insulators, current leads and water-cooling system. Cathode has separation of emitting surface and ion-absorptive cavity due to cylindrical shape of recess. Heater of the cathode is made in the form of a heating spiral wound around the cathode and connected to the cathode in series. Cross section of cathode on side of high-voltage power supply is narrow.
EFFECT: technical result is longer service life of electron-beam device, possibility of continuous multiple repetition of process; whole batch of output products released in identical conditions and with identical modes has minimum spreads of parameters.
