SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to psychology, and can be used for controlling the psycho-emotional state of a person. Method includes three stages: diagnostic, corrective, and reinforcing stage. At the first stage, the psychologist presents the person with a choice between one of multiple decorative candle lamps with the strongest associative connection for the person with their current state. At the second stage, the psychologist once again presents the person with a choice between decorative candle lamps with the strongest associative connection for the person with their desired state. The psychologist accompanies both stages with a conversation and observation of the changes in the general motor movements of the person. At the third stage, the person is offered to record the image of at least one decorative candle lamp selected at the second stage, or to take a premade physical decorative candle lamp for subsequent independent reinforcement of the improved psycho-emotional state by the person.

EFFECT: ensured formation and reinforcement of a skill of independent identification and control of the psycho-emotional state in a person with the possibility of subsequent control of the current state in stressful situations.
