FIELD: tire production.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to sealants, in particular to sealants for tires, containing specific cross-linked butyl rubber, and to their use, as well as to a method for the production of the mentioned sealants. The sealant, according to the invention, contains: 45-100 wt.pt. per 100 wt.pt. of rubber of at least one copolymer of cross-linked butyl rubber, containing links obtained from at least one iso-olefin, and at least one conjugated multi-olefin, in which links obtained from conjugated multi-olefin are either (i) at least partially halogenated, or (ii) not halogenated; 10-60 wt.pt. per 100 wt.pt. of rubber of at least one resin including cyclopentadiene (CPD) homopolymer resin, dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) homopolymer resin, cyclopentadiene copolymer resin, terpene homopolymer resin, terpene copolymer resin, terpene/phenol homopolymer resin, terpene/phenol copolymer resin, homopolymer or copolymer resins of a fraction C5 or C9, homo- or copolymer resins of α-methyl styrene, or mixtures thereof; 0.5-20 wt.pt. per 100 wt.pt. of rubber of at least one aging stabilizer; up to 55 wt.pt. per 100 wt.pt. of rubber of styrene/butadiene copolymer with a styrene content of 1-60 wt.%; and 10-55 wt.pt. per 100 wt.pt. of rubber of at least one plasticizer including liquid elastomers, polyolefin oils, naphthene oils, paraffin oils, oils of distilled aromatic extracts (DAE), oils of medium extracts of solvates (MES), oils of treated distilled aromatic extracts (TDAE), mineral oils, vegetable oils, plasticizers consisting of ethers, composite ethers, phosphates, sulfonates, or mixtures thereof.
EFFECT: sealants, according to the invention, show excellent adhesion and cohesion, causing only very low deterioration of rolling resistance, when used in self-sealing tires.
