FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely cardiac surgery. Infected areas of the posterior leaflet are detected, their excision is performed. The abscess of the fibrous ring is opened with the removal and excision of the contents, the cavity of the abscess is treated with a solution of dioxydine. The prosthesis is implanted by suturing the fibrous ring of the posterior leaflet from the posteromedial commissure in the direction of the anterolateral commissure. In the area of the abscess, two to four U-shaped sutures are applied to the wall of the left atrium at the edge of the fibrous ring, forming a roller. With the same threads, the inner wall of the abscess is sutured through its base, removing the threads into the cavity of the left ventricle, followed by stitching the cuff of the prosthesis with them.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of treatment, ensure safe mitral valve prosthetics for the patient in a complicated infectious process, reduce the risk of iatrogenic complications associated with surgery, provide hermetic closing of the abscess cavity regardless of its size and shape, avoid rupture of the posterior wall of the left ventricle and exclude damage to the envelope branch of the left coronary artery.
