FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular to the designs of cycloidal propellers designed to form a driving force and organize the control of an air transport vehicle. The cyclic propeller of a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft consists of a rotor, a set of blades rotating in a circular orbit around the rotor axis and turning around its own axis, and a mechanical system for controlling the angle of attack of the blades and a propulsion system. The rotor has ends closed by discs. The discs are thickened and have a rounded edge. The blades are curved along the chord, i.e. have an asymmetrical profile. The surface of the blades is made wavy due to regular depressions along the chord on the upper and lower surfaces of the blade.
EFFECT: increased energy efficiency of the cycloidal rotary propulsion unit, that is reduction of power consumption to obtain the specified traction characteristics.
