FIELD: video technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to video data encoding/decoding technologies. A method for controlling the maximum size of the conversion for decoding a video sequence is proposed. The method contains a stage at which the decoder identifies a high-level syntax element associated with a video sequence. Further, according to the method, the decoder determines the maximum size of the conversion associated with the video sequence based on the high-level syntax element associated with the video sequence, while the maximum size of the conversion is 32 or 64. And also decoding by the video sequence decoder using the maximum conversion size based on determining the maximum conversion size associated with the video sequence is performed.
EFFECT: ensuring effective control of the maximum conversion size for decoding the video sequence.
