FIELD: video data processing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to video processing and, in particular, to encoding or decoding a video sequence capable of supporting various chromaticity formats (4:4:4, 4:2:2) in Versatile Video Coding (VVC). Proposed is a method for encoding a video sequence. Method includes a stage of encoding a video sequence using one of the 4:4:4 chromaticity format and the 4:2:2 chromaticity format. When encoding a video sequence using the 4:4:4 chromaticity format, copying the affine motion vector of one 4×4 brightness block using an operation other than averaging, and linking the affine motion vector with a joint 4×4 chromaticity block. When encoding a video sequence using the 4:2:2 chromaticity format, linking each 4×4 chromaticity block with two joint 4×4 brightness blocks so that the affine motion vector of one 4×4 chromaticity block constitutes the average value of the motion vectors of the two joint brightness blocks.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of video encoding/decoding.
