FIELD: nuclear industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the design of a storage basket for transporting, storing and/or stocking nuclear materials extending longitudinally, and a node for transporting and/or storing nuclear materials. The node contains at least one basket for the placement of nuclear materials and a container. The storage basket contains at least one cavity suitable for accommodating nuclear material and separated by an inner wall from the said basket, an outer wall of at least one of one or more inner walls and an outer wall formed by a movable device suitable for changing the gaps between two solids. The said movable device extends in the longitudinal direction and contains at least one group of several heat transfer elements located in the longitudinal direction of the said movable device. Two adjacent heat transfer elements may be in contact with each other. Each heat transfer element has an almost prismatic shape and contains a base capable of resting on the wall of one of the two solids, has a lower face, an upper face, as well as the first and second side faces. At least one side face is provided with means to provide traction of the said heat transfer element in a direction parallel to the said base, to bring it from the first position, in which the heat transfer element is in a free state and rests on the wall, to the second position, in which the heat transfer element is separated from the wall by a gap, and vice versa. The basket contains a metal sponge containing pores filled with gas.
EFFECT: reducing the mass of a storage basket containing one or more movable devices, while maintaining thermal conductivity of an equivalent order, in ensuring safety and reliability.
