FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, in particular to a method for the protection of pig fetus from the infection with the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (hereinafter – PRRSV), including breeding of a female pig with a male pig. At the same time, the female pig contains modified chromosome sequences in both alleles of gene CD163, wherein the modified chromosome sequence is an insert in a gene encoding protein CD163, deletion in the gene encoding protein CD163, or a combination thereof.
EFFECT: invention is effective for the reduction in sensitivity of a female pig to infection with PRRSV.
