FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and is used for receiving and transmitting the decameter range radio waves on planes. The technical result is achieved by the airborne antenna system including a trailing antenna, an automatic antenna control unit, an antenna release winch, a winch control unit linked with the automatic antenna control unit, and an onboard transmitter, is characterised by the fact that the trailing antenna with two spaced ends, wherein one end is isolated from the hull and the other is connected with the hull by a common transmitter terminal and the antenna release winch, in the working position forms a loop by releasing the antenna end connected with the hull by means of the winch, wherein in order to form a loop, the antenna is equipped with a load, configured for free sliding thereof along the antenna, and in order to control that the length of the antenna loop matches the working frequency, an SWR measurement apparatus is connected to the onboard transmitter and to the automatic control unit, by means whereof the isolated antenna end is connected to the onboard transmitter.

EFFECT: increase in the electrical and mechanical reliability of the antenna system with the maintained optimally low value of the standing wave ratio.
