FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to agriculture, in particular to milking an animal, first of all a cow. Target milk yield is determined, which is lower than possible expected milk yield. Milking process is performed. During milking, the amount of obtained milk is determined. The amount of obtained milk is compared with target milk yield. Milking process is finished, when the amount of obtained milk mainly corresponds to target milk yield. At the same time, an initial day is determined, which is earlier than a starting day and beginning from which milking with target milk yield is performed. A milking unit has a milking device, animal identification means, means for recording milk yield obtained in the milking process, a control device for control of the milking device. A computer program product is stored on a machine-readable memorizing medium, which is developed and intended for the implementation of a method for milking a milk-giving animal.
EFFECT: starting a milk-giving animal is simplified without the use of antibiotics for a starting period.
