FIELD: coating technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of coating a metal strip by immersion in a melt. A method is proposed for washing the overflow chamber (132) at the end of the trunk (130) located on the bath side of the device for coating a metal strip by immersion in the melt. The specified trunk (130) serves to guide the strip (200) in the atmosphere of the protective gas before coating with a metal melt (120). In the method, a flushing circulation circuit is carried out in the overflow chamber (132) of the trunk (130) by feeding metal melt (120) from the melt bath into the overflow chamber (132), on the one hand, and simultaneously pumping the melt (120) from the overflow chamber into the melt bath using a suction pump (150), on the other hand. In this case, the trunk (130) with the overflow chamber (132) is removed from the melt bath at least to an extent that the melt cannot flow through the overflow edge (134) inside the trunk (130) into the overflow chamber, and the flushing circulation circuit is also implemented with the trunk removed from the melt by feeding the melt from the melt bath into the overflow chamber (132) using a pumping pump (160).
EFFECT: implementation of the flushing circulation circuit is ensured not only when the suction trunk is immersed in a bath of solution, but also when it is extracted from the melt.
