SUBSTANCE: aerosol-generating apparatus comprises a cartridge for retaining the aerosol-forming substrate, a sprayer for spraying the aerosol-forming substrate, and a micropump (1) for delivering fluid. The micropump (1) is located between the cartridge and the sprayer in order to supply the aerosol-forming substrate from the cartridge to the sprayer. The micropump (1) comprises two pump chambers (2) with two separate chamber volumes and two actuating elements (6), wherein each actuating element (6) is linked with one of the two pump chambers (2) in order to change the volume of the corresponding chamber, and each pump chamber (2) is equipped with at least one intake valve (30) and at least one outlet valve (31). The two pump chambers (2) are positioned in parallel and in fluid communication with a common inlet (4) and a common outlet (5). The actuating elements (6) are configured to work in parallel so that the volume change in each of the two pump chambers (2) is simultaneous for both pump chambers (2).

EFFECT: ensured generation of an aerosol.
