SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to a method of generating aerosol in an aerosol-generating system and an aerosol-generating system. Method includes storage of a liquid aerosol-forming substrate in a liquid storage part. Method involves delivering a liquid aerosol-forming substrate by means of a pump from a liquid storage part to a sprayer. Proposed method comprises inhaling the airflow pathway of aerosol-generating system to determine inhalation during inhaling. Method comprises providing controller, functionally connected to inhaling sensor. Aerosol-generating system comprises a housing with an air inlet and an air outlet defining an air flow path therebetween. System has a sprayer for spraying the aerosol-forming substrate. Sprayer is an evaporator comprising a heating element. System includes a pump configured to deliver a liquid aerosol-forming substrate from a liquid storage portion to a sprayer. Proposed system comprises inhaling transducer arranged at air flow path to define inhalation during inhaling. System comprises a controller functionally connected to the inhaling sensor and to the heating element. Controller is configured to determine inhaling intensity based on readings of inhaling sensor and adjustment of pump feed rate and power supplied to heating element in response to a certain intensity of inhaling.

EFFECT: technical result is creation of aerosol generating system, which can be configured to adjust delivery of liquid for electronic cigarettes per one puff depending on intensity of user inhaling.
