SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to composite material, which is suitable for use in the production of coatings, which are water-repellent and are open for diffusing water vapors, as well as to the use of composite material and to a method for the manufacture of composite material. Composite material contains mineral porous material of a carrier and swellable material. Pores of mineral porous material of the carrier contain swellable material. Mineral porous material of the carrier is a mineral filler or a mixture of mineral fillers. Mineral porous material of the carrier has mostly open-porous system. At the same time, swellable material is obtained in pores of mineral porous material of the carrier.

EFFECT: improvement of permeability for water vapors in coatings, while increase in the capability of absorbing water in coating is eliminated.
