SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composition of water-based primer coating and coating system, which can be used to form wet layers or coatings, stable to leakage formation, on wide range of substrates. Composition of water-based primer coating contains water carrier, resin component, which includes polyvinylidene chloride in mixture with water carrier and one or more clayey agents, preventing leakage formation. Clayey agent includes organically modified hydrophilic clay and is present in quantity, sufficient for formation of coating, stable to leakage formation. Coating system contains first composition of water-based primer coating with resistance to leakage formation and second water composition of coating. Coated product and method for coating metal surface of product are also described.

EFFECT: prevention of excessive formation of leakages in drying in wet medium, which provides protection of metal-containing substrates, such as intermodal cargo containers, from corrosion.
