FIELD: super-absorbing materials.
SUBSTANCE: super-absorbing material for absorbing fluids is disclosed, including super-absorbing particles characterized by a median size from 50 to 2000 micrometers, and containing a porous mesh, which includes a set of nano-pores characterized by an average cross-section size from 10 to 500 nanometers, where super-absorbing particles are characterized by vortex stop time of 80 seconds or less and free swell gel bed permeability (GBP) in the range from 5 Darcy to 100 Darcy, where particles are formed of cross-linked polymer, which contains repeated links obtained from one or more ethylene-unsaturated monomer compounds containing at least one hydrophilic radical. A method for the production of the specified super-absorbing particles is also disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides high absorption speed values at initial contact with fluid.
