FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the petroleum industry and can be used to measure the content of reservoir water in the products of a borehole in order to obtain information for controlling the development of a petroleum field. The method includes sampling the products of a borehole, degassing under atmospheric pressure until the products are completely free from bubble gas, measuring the height of the liquid column in a calibrated cylindrical vessel and the hydrostatic pressure of liquid therein. The sampled borehole products are herein divided into two parts; one part of the sampled borehole products is divided into petroleum and reservoir water, e.g., applying demulsifiers, by centrifugation or heating. The calibrated cylindrical vessel is then filled first with one separated liquid, e.g., petroleum; the height of the column of said liquid and the hydrostatic pressure in the vessel are measured and used to calculate the density of petroleum; then, after removing petroleum, the vessel is cleaned thereof and filled with the separated reservoir water in order to conduct similar measurements and calculations of the density thereof. Another part of the sample of borehole products is then poured into the emptied vessel, and the height of the column of the petroleum-water mixture and the hydrostatic pressure in the vessel are measured, and the content of reservoir water in the borehole products are calculated based on the found density of the petroleum-water mixture and the previously measured values of densities of petroleum and reservoir water.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measurements and calculations of the content of reservoir water in the products of a borehole.
