FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing isopropylbenzene by transalkylation of diisopropylbenzenes with benzene. Method includes conducting the process of transalkylation in a single-shelf contact transalkylator with an adiabatic layer of a zeolite-containing catalyst, subjecting the reaction products of transalkylation to subsequent rectification and isolating recycle benzene, isopropylbenzene, diisopropylbenzenes, and heavy polyalkylbenzenes. Method is characterised by conducting the process of transalkylation of diisopropylbenzenes with benzene at a temperature of 190÷230°C, a pressure of 2.0÷3.0 MPa, a benzene/diisopropylbenzenes molar ratio of 2:1÷6:1, a volumetric feed rate of 1÷5 h-1, a volumetric rate for diisopropylbenzenes of 0.3÷1.3 h-1 in the presence of a heterogeneous zeolite-containing catalyst containing, wt.%: cerium oxide 0.4 to 0.6, USY zeolite in the NH3 form with a SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratio of 11 49.7 to 49.8, γ-Al2O3 binder the rest.
EFFECT: increase in the catalytic activity of the catalyst, allowing for the production of the target product — isopropylbenzene with a diisopropylbenzene conversion above 83%, output above 80 wt.%, productivity up to 1.3 g IPB/(gcat·h).
