FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: catalyst for transalkylation of diisopropylbenzenes with benzene into isopropylbenzene contains, wt. %: cerium oxide 0.4-0.6, zeolite USY in NH3 form with a molar ratio SiO2/Al2O3 = 11 49.7-49.8, binder γ-Al2O3, which is a mixture of 15 wt. % aluminum hydroxide grade Pural SB and 35 wt. % of aluminum hydroxide of the Disperal HP 14 brand being the rest. To obtain a catalyst, a binder is pre-prepared by mixing 15 wt. % of Boehmite Pural SB and 35 wt. % of Disperal HP 14. Powdered zeolite USY in NH3 form with a molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 = 11 is added to the mixture, the resulting mass is peptized by 5 wt. % solution of nitric acid with the addition of triethylene glycol, distilled water is added in portions. The resulting paste is extruded, dried for 10-12 hours, dried at a temperature of 60°C, 80°C and 110°C for 2 hours at each temperature and calcined at a temperature of 550°C for 4 hours. Cerium oxide is applied to the obtained zeolite granules by wet impregnation with an excess of solution from an aqueous solution of cerium nitrate. The mass is periodically stirred at room temperature and left in the air for 2-3 hours, the spent solution is drained, dried at a temperature of 110-120°C for 2-3 hours and calcined at a temperature of 550°C for 3 hours.

EFFECT: increase in the catalytic activity of the catalyst, the strength and stability of the catalyst, which makes it possible to obtain the target product with conversion DIPB of more than 79% and yield of more than 66 wt. %.
