FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a monoalkylated aromatic compound, such as, for example, ethylbenzene or cumene, in which flow of an alkylating aromatic compound, such as, for example, benzene, and flow of an alkylating reagent, such as, for example, polyethylbenzene or polyisopropylbenzene, are introduced into interaction in the presence of transalkylation catalyst and under conditions of transalkylation in at least a partially liquid phase. Transalkylation catalyst contains zeolite having a type of frame structure selected from a group including FAU, BEA*, MOR, MWW and mixtures thereof. Zeolite has a molar ratio of silicon dioxide/aluminum oxide, which is in the range from 10 to 15. The catalytic composition for transalkylation has an external surface area/volume ratio in the range from 30 to 85 cm-1.
EFFECT: higher degree of conversion of polyalkylated aromatic compounds to form the required monoalkylated compound, such as ethylbenzene or cumene.
